Motorcycle accidents: Driver admits hitting biker on purpose

The weather has been beautiful in Pennsylvania, and motorcyclists are taking the opportunity to hit the open road. Signs and educational initiatives encourage fellow motorists to look out for motorcycles and drive safely, and motorcycle drivers can stay safe by wearing helmets and obeying traffic laws. A recent news story out of Pennsylvania raises cause for concern. A man riding a motorcycle was struck by another vehicle and the rider was grievously injured. Shockingly, when police and rescue workers arrived on the scene to render aid, it was discovered the crash was not an accident at all. 

The driver that struck the motorcycle admitted that he had swerved to hit the rider on purpose. His son was a passenger in his vehicle, and after some questioning, the driver admitted that he was angry the motorcycle in the next lane was attempting to pass him. He swerved over and struck the motorcycle to teach the rider a lesson, according to the driver himself. The victim suffered broken bones and a collapsed lung. Apparently, the victim flew through the air upon being struck.
