Multi-vehicle accident leaves one dead, multiple injuries
One person is dead in the wake of a tragic seven car accident on I-81. This recent Dauphin County truck accident involved a semi-tractor trailer which was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle in front of it was forced to slow down.
The driver of that vehicle reportedly tried to avoid the impending collision with the truck by swerving into the median. However, the truck, unable to stop in time, still struck the vehicle from behind. The semi reportedly flipped over after the collision, causing the smaller vehicle to spin out. Other vehicles were allegedly struck by the tractor trailer before it rolled onto its side.
Two people were rushed to a nearby hospital in the wake of the accident. Reports state that the truck’s driver was partially ejected from his cab. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. It is unclear if the truck driver was the individual who was killed or if it was an occupant of another vehicle involved in the tragedy.
Truck accidents like this one can often cause catastrophic injuries. Accident victims may face a long and tenuous battle while they concentrate on physically and emotionally recovering. Additionally, they could find themselves facing expensive medical bills and/or lost wages.
In cases such as this one, individuals may have the option to pursue a civil lawsuit in order to gain financial compensation for the injuries they suffered. Pennsylvania citizens who are left facing severe personal injuries after a motor vehicle accident may want to investigate their legal options. Compensation can help victims be able to focus on regaining their health and not how to cover their monthly bills.
