Bus accidents seem to be on the rise, latest causes injury
Many Pennsylvania residents rely on mass transportation to get from place to place. Part of the reason for this is that there are a multitude of people living in urban areas who have little use or space for a personal vehicle. Others may not have a driver’s license and rely on trains, buses and other methods of public travel. Though convenient, riders are often at serious risk because bus accidents can be particularly devastating.
Recently, the driver of a car crashed into a Port Authority bus near Springdale. Several people on the bus suffered injury as a result of the crash. The driver of the car at fault fled the scene.
Police were able to apprehend the suspect later. Upon investigation into the cause of the accident, law enforcement was able to determine that the driver did not even possess a valid driver’s license, for which he was charged, along with causing an accident involving injuries and leaving the scene of an accident. Further investigation revealed that the driver’s mother was the owner of the vehicle and had allowed him to drive anyway; accordingly, she was charged as well.
When people suffer injury as a result of bus accidents, they may find themselves in a state of disbelief. Medical bills, physical injuries, mental anguish and other related scenarios can add up quickly. However, help is available in the form of an experienced Pennsylvania personal injury attorney. An attorney can assist injured victims as they confront the often stressful aftermath of an accident.
