5 injured in car accident in Pennsylvania

A serious crash early in the morning of July 11 has sent five people to local hospitals with serious injuries, according to local sources. Pennsylvania police responded to the single-car accident around 3:00 a.m. on State Road not far from Route 413. So far, police are still attempting to determine the cause of the crash, and no charges have been filed against the driver.

The accident record states that the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle for some reason, causing it to flip several times. Of the five individuals who were in the car at the time, two were ejected from the vehicle. Emergency responders said all five individuals were injured and they were taken to local hospitals.

Police are still sorting out the cause of the accident, as it is as yet unclear why the driver lost control of the vehicle. They have not ruled out negligence, recklessness or even intoxication as possible causes. However, their investigation is still underway and, as of this writing, no cause for the accident has been made public.

If the Pennsylvania police investigation leads officers to believe the driver of the vehicle was in some way responsible for the car accident, that driver could face criminal charges connected to the crash. In addition, those riding in the car may wish to pursue personal injury charges against the driver. Such lawsuits are handled in a civil court setting and require evidence of culpability on the drivers’ part.
