Car accident results in homicide charges

Pennsylvania drivers do their best to stay safe on the roads. Of course, there is always the potential for a car accident to occur, but obeying traffic laws and keeping up with vehicle maintenance can help prevent crashes. Despite the best efforts of drivers, crashes still occur across the state each day. Recently, a tragic fatal accident  resulted in some serious criminal charges against a driver.

The tragedy was put in motion when a man erroneously made his way through an intersection and crashed into a Pennsylvania woman’s car. When help arrived, the accident victim was found to be seriously injured. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but attempts to save her life were unsuccessful, and sadly, she was pronounced dead.

The driver at fault found himself in serious trouble as a result. Investigators determined the man’s driving privileges had been suspended previously, and he should not have been driving at the time. He blew through a red light, causing the accident that killed the woman. He now faces a number of charges, including vehicular homicide.

When someone in Pennsylvania becomes the victim of a fatal car accident, surviving family may feel overwhelmed. In addition to grief, representatives of a victim’s estate must figure out how to pay for medical bills, burial costs and other expensive consequences of a fatal crash. In many cases, the executors of a deceased victim’s estate choose to bring an experienced attorney on board. An attorney can help clients seek justice in civil court against the driver deemed responsible, pursuing recovery of documented financial losses.
