Pedestrian auto accident victim dies

Every driver’s worst nightmare is being involved in an accident. In Pennsylvania, auto accidents claim thousands of lives each year. Serious crashes can result in permanent personal injury, or worse, and expensive damage to vehicles. When a driver is involved in an auto accident, state law requires that he or she pull safely to the side of the road and remain on the scene until police arrive.

Recently, a Pennsylvania woman was waiting for her bus to arrive. She was struck by a pickup truck. Rather than stop and try to render aid until help arrived, the pickup driver sped away. Police began to hunt for the individual and subsequently located his vehicle, described as a white truck with damage to the front. The suspect was located shortly after, allegedly walking through his own neighborhood.

When help arrived at the accident scene, rescuers rushed the woman to a local hospital. Unfortunately she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after. Police were later able to apprehend the suspect, and the investigation is ongoing. Police have not ruled out drugs and alcohol as a contributing factor.

When a victim or their family needs help fighting for justice after an auto accident, an experienced personal injury attorney can help. A lawyer may be able to take care of some of the legwork that inevitably follows such tragedies. Victims that have suffered as a result of someone’s negligent behavior should not have to be overwhelmed by funeral expenses, medical bills or legal matters. A compassionate attorney can offer ongoing advice and support for families facing these often devastating circumstances.
