Pennsylvania car accident kills 6

An investigation into a tragic wreck that took the lives of six people, including two children, is under way, according to local sources. Pennsylvania police responded to the car accident on September 1. One driver is facing potential charges in connection with the case.

Police records indicate the 36-year-old driver of an SUV was traveling on a Pennsylvania highway when she abruptly crossed the center line and smashed into a vehicle traveling the opposite direction. The resulting crash killed all four people in the other vehicle. Two children in the SUV were also killed.

The driver and her 10-year-old son were rushed to hospital with severe injuries. The driver’s nephew and daughter were killed immediately, as were the four adults in the other car. Blunt-force trauma was determined to be the cause, and the highway was closed for several hours to assess the damage and piece together the accident. Police have said they consider the female driver to be at fault and may be filing criminal charges.

This tragic car accident is made all the worse by the fact that children were involved. Should the woman be found guilty of negligence leading to the deaths of these six individuals, surviving family members may be entitled to seek wrongful death law suits against her. Such suits would be handled separately from criminal filings in a Pennsylvania civil court.
