Man facing charges in Pennsylvania tractor-trailer accident

Those who are employed in occupations that require regular work along busy roadways are no doubt aware of the possible hazards. As a result, they likely work as diligently and quickly as possible in order to minimize the risks they may face from potential dangers such as a tractor-trailer accident. Unfortunately, neither efficiency nor experience was able to save the life of one Pennsylvania man.

The deadly accident occurred approximately one year ago. However, for reasons that were not made clear in a media report, the investigation was only recently completed enough to result in charges for a driver of a tractor-trailer. According to the report, a father and son team was using a tow truck to clear away vehicles that had been involved in a prior accident along Interstate 81. As the son was working to remove a vehicle, a tractor-trailer approaching from the rear apparently slammed into a pickup truck parked along the side of the road.

That vehicle was then shoved into the men’s tow truck. It was unclear how the son was injured but he suffered critical injuries in the collision. He was transported to a nearby medical center where he survived for several days. Unfortunately, his injuries were too severe and he later died.

Pennsylvania officials recently filed charges against the driver thought responsible for this tractor-trailer accident. Police did not elaborate on the specific charges that the man is now facing. The surviving family members may now be afforded some measure of closure as far as the criminal aspect is concerned. However, if they have not already done so, they may also seek compensation for their financial damages by filing a wrongful death claim against the party or parties believed to be responsible.
