Pennsylvania motorcycle accidents increase with warmer weather

A summer approaches, more bikers take their motorcycles out on Pennsylvania roads. With all the aftermarket parts that are supplied to motorcycle enthusiasts, bright lights and a loud exhaust still cannot prevent all motorcycle accidents. Automobile and truck drivers often express caution and watch for bikers, but the distractions of today’s technology like cellphones and in-vehicle electronic devices can add to the fact that sometimes the surroundings can make it difficult to spot a motorcycle. Failure to see or allowing distraction while behind the wheel can lead to devastating consequences.

Police were called to the scene of the incident around 7 p.m. Authorities arrived and noted that the motorcycle appeared to be heading straight and crashed into an SUV. At the time of the accident, the SUV was attempting to make a left-hand turn.

The 26-year-old biker was transported to a local hospital. He succumbed to his injuries an hour after the tragic accident. Police are continuing to investigate the crash.

Motorcycle accidents can be prevented with cautious driving exercised by all motorists on the roads. Should a loved one be injured or fatally wounded by another motorist while out on one’s motorcycle, proving that the incident was the fault of the other driver may be difficult.
