Flat tire leads to fatal car accident in Pennsylvania
No matter how carefully one plans out the day, the unexpected often occurs without warning and can lead to a tragic sequence of events. A simple car problem at the wrong time can result in a serious or fatal car accident. One Pennsylvania family is now mourning the loss of their loved one after one of these wrecks.
Pennsylvania State Police were called to the scene of a fatal collision that occurred along Interstate 279. According to the report, a 55-year-old man was traveling in the northbound lanes of the highway when one of the tires on his pickup truck went flat. He apparently pulled over to the right side shoulder to change it. As he was doing so, another driver somehow veered from the travel lanes and crashed into him.
The man was killed upon impact. Police have charged the 65-year-old man whose vehicle hit him with reckless driving. It remains unclear why the second vehicle left the travel lanes. Pennsylvania officials have not stated whether there will be any further charges once their investigation is completed.
This tragic car accident occurred in the early afternoon hours when visibility should have been clear enough to see the disabled vehicle along the shoulder. The deceased victim’s family are now forced to accept his tragic and seemingly preventable loss. Along with the final expenses they are facing, they may also experience other significant monetary losses. In these circumstances, family members may want information regarding the filing of a wrongful death civil suit against the parties who are deemed responsible in an attempt to recover the financial damages sustained.
