Pennsylvania motorcycle accidents claim another life

As the summer season begins to wind down, it is likely that the number of Pennsylvania residents who are looking to enjoy the rest of the warm weather on their motorcycles will increase. As a result, there may also be a rise in the number of serious motorcycle accidents. Unfortunately, the riders on these vehicles always suffer the greater risk of injury in these collisions.

Pennsylvania emergency responders recently were called to another scene that involved a crash between a motorcycle and a passenger car. The crash occurred on a Sunday evening shortly after nightfall. According to the accident report, a car was entering an intersection from the west without yielding the right-of-way to an approaching motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, an unidentified male, was unable to avoid a collision with the larger vehicle.

The bike struck the car broadside. The driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby medical center. His passenger, a 34-year-old woman, was critically wounded in the wreck. She was taken by helicopter to another hospital where she later died from her injuries. None of the occupants in the car were injured.

Pennsylvania officials have not completed their investigation, and as of yet, it is unclear whether the motorist will face any criminal charges in this deadly crash. The surviving victim may be facing an extensive and costly recovery that may include rehabilitation and physical therapy. In addition to his physical pain and suffering, he may also suffer emotional distress in light of his companion’s death. Furthermore, her family is now forced to endure her loss while struggling to handle the monetary losses that tend to accumulate in the aftermath of these deadly motorcycle accidents. Both parties are entitled to seek recovery of these financial damages through civil litigation efforts.
