Pennsylvania bus accident sends 2 students to the hospital

Sending one’s children to school via public school transportation is almost a think-less task. Packing up the backpacks, tying the shoes, zipping the coat and kissing them goodbye when dropping the kids off at the bus stop, daycare center or even at school is how many Pennsylvania parents spend their early mornings. Trusting the adults with the care of one’s children can often be taken for granted until the unfortunate happens. An early morning bus accident has caused major concerns with regard to bus safety and driver training.

The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. as students were making their way to school. The bus collided with a minivan at a busy intersection. Reports indicate that the minivan have severe damage to the passenger side and was resting up on a sidewalk.

The driver of the bus was at the beginning of the bus route and only two students were aboard the vehicle when the crash occurred. Both students were transported to a local hospital for treatment, although the extent of their injuries has not been released at this time. Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.

Should a bus accident occur when children are on board, procedures and policy dictates how the incident is handled. Tensions can still run high and parents will worry. Having a school official at the helm who is aware of the surroundings and prepared should the unthinkable happen, is priceless. The guardians of the two students who were injured in the bus accident may have the right to seek compensation for any incurred medical bills and lost wages in a civil lawsuit. A Pennsylvania attorney can help guide parents in the steps necessary to possibly secure payment to cover the expenses.
