3 teenagers dead following fatal car accident in Pennsylvania
An 18-year-old man is dead and two other teens have been injured in a fatal crash in Butler, according to local news sources. Pennsylvania authorities and medical personnel responded to the car accident that claimed the life of the male driver and sent his two passengers to the hospital. Police are still in the midst of their investigation as of this report, and so far they have not determined a definite cause for the crash.
According to the accident record, just after midnight on the night of Oct. 17, a vehicle driven by a local high school senior reportedly left the road it was traveling on. The car struck a tree, causing serious damage to the vehicle. First responders on the scene declared the driver dead.
Two female passengers, who have not been identified at this time, were apparently injured in the crash. The nature and extent of their injuries have not been reported at this time, but it is believed they are both still alive and under medical care. Police have not commented on why the crash might have occurred at this time.
Pennsylvania police should continue to investigate this car accident until they determine what caused the driver to leave the road. If it can be determined that the crash could be attributed to the driver’s actions, either due to negligence, recklessness or even alcohol intoxication, further legal recourse may be available to the injured passengers. With sufficient evidence pointing to at least partial culpability on the part of the driver, the families of the injured girls could sue the driver’s estate and anyone with ownership interest in the vehicle for personal injury.
