Car accident injures 2 in Pennsylvania

An accident has been reported by local authorities who responded to the crash. The car accident injured two individuals in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, around 2:30 p.m. on June 2. So far, police have not filed charges against either driver involved, but their investigation is ongoing as of this report. 

According to the accident report, a 61-year-old woman apparently crossed the center line around 2:30, causing her to strike a vehicle driven by a 54-year-old woman traveling the opposite direction. So far, police have not been able to determine what caused her to cross the center line. The force of the impact launched her vehicle into the air and caused it to spin 180 degrees. 

The accident caused both drivers to be pinned in their cars until they were extricated by emergency workers. Both drivers were rushed to local hospitals with injuries that have not been publicly reported. Police are still gathering data about the specifics of the accident, but it has been confirmed that neither individual has succumbed to her injuries at this point. 

Should Pennsylvania police determine in the course of their investigation that the driver who crossed the center line was responsible for the car accident, either through negligence, recklessness or another factor, that driver could face criminal charges. In addition, the injured driver of the other car could choose to file for personal injury in a civil court setting. While a criminal conviction is not required for a personal injury suit to be successful, the civil suit still requires evidence of wrongdoing.
