Car accident on Pennsylvania Turnpike leads to numerous wrecks

The Pennsylvania Turnpike can be a deadly drive for some motorists. Speed, numerous cars and tractor-trailers along with the weather that can turn in an instant, the turnpike has seen its fair share of car accidents. A recent multi-car accident has injured several and claimed the lives of two people.

The call came in to authorities around 6:40 a.m. The first crash involved a truck that hit a guardrail and blocked one lane of the Turnpike. This incident resulted in no injuries.

The second crash happened in the same general area as the first accident but involved two vehicles that ended up blocking both lanes. Two people were transported to a local hospital for treatment. How this incident initially occurred is still under investigation.

The third crash occurred when the 55-year-old driver of a car lost control and slammed into the side of a stopped tractor-trailer. The driver and his 47-year-old front seat passenger died at the scene. Two passengers in the back, both minors, were transported to local hospital and treated for minor injuries.

A car accident can be a traumatic event. Serious injury can leave the victim and his or her family with tremendous debt resulting from medical bills, loss of wages and a future of pain and suffering. Pennsylvania residents who have suffered from a serious injury due to the negligence of another party can file a personal injury claim in civil court. With the help of a knowledgeable attorney, one can successfully file and navigate the steps involved in a personal injury claim and possibly receive financial compensation to help cover monetary losses.
