Car accident results in manslaughter charges
The Keystone State is home to some of the most scenic roads in the nation. A drive through Pennsylvania boasts both rural and urban landscapes that could be the photo on a postcard. Though usually a pleasurable experience, Pennsylvania roads can also be dangerous, and there is always the risk of a serious car accident.
Recently, a Pennsylvania man was charged with the death of a woman directly caused by his failure to properly negotiate a turn. He was unable to keep his pickup truck in the proper lane, and struck another vehicle driven by the 53-year-old woman. She suffered injuries so severe that she died as a result.
The driver deemed at fault is currently awaiting his day in court, which is scheduled for later this month. He is currently facing charges of involuntary manslaughter and homicide by vehicle. The driver himself only suffered minor injuries in the crash. Charges like these can have serious legal consequences, and victims and their families may have the proof they need to seek compensation for their injuries and loss through the Pennsylvania civil justice system.
When a car accident results in a fatality, the aftermath is understandably stressful for the surviving family of the victim. Funerals can be costly, and medical bills and insurance matters must be dealt with. It is often helpful for victims and their families to partner up with an experienced attorney. An attorney may be able to assist as people attempt to bring the driver considered at fault to justice.
