Citizens concerned as auto accident on busy road kills another
Many factors can contribute to accidents in Pennsylvania. A negligent driver, driving while under the influence of illegal substances or alcohol, speeding and the distraction of cell phones can all play a part in car accidents that can shake up victims or claim the lives of others. Speeding can leave drivers with the inability to maneuver a vehicle in a deliberate and necessary manner to avoid an auto accident. Concerned residents are pushing for change after a recent accident claimed a life.
Police were called to the scene around 7 a.m. where witnesses reported seeing a car speeding on the busy road. This same car would in seconds cause a serious accident involving three other vehicles. One of these vehicles held a husband who was in route to drop his wife off at work, a weekday routine, when the car crashed into them, setting off the chain reaction.
The wife was pronounced dead at the scene. A 34-year-old man suffered a broken leg and a 55-year-old male was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening. Two other victims were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Car accidents can alter the lives of those involved and the lives of their families. For those who are seriously injured or surviving family members of those killed in an auto accident that was the result of a negligent driver, seeking legal recourse by a personal injury or wrongful death civil lawsuit may be an option. A Pennsylvania attorney can aid victims and surviving family members file a claim to seek compensation for medical costs, lost wages and other documented financial losses, including funeral costs where applicable.
