Multiple vehicle auto accident leads to injuries

When driving on Pennsylvania roadways, it is important for drivers to realize how quickly conditions can change. When an auto accident takes place, one’s path of travel, ability to control the vehicle and expected course of actions all make a sudden and unexpected shift. Responding to those changes in a fast and safe manner can mean the difference in one’s chances of survival.

An example lies in a recent crash involving four vehicles on Route 54 near Elysburg, Pennsylvania. Police believe that the crash took place when the driver of a Ford Mustang slowed while travelling eastbound in a lone of traffic on Route 54. A tractor trailer ran into the rear of the Mustang, which pushed the vehicle into the westbound lanes of travel.

At that point, the Mustang collided with a Toyota Prius, and the Prius collided with a Dodge Dakota. The truck then crushed the back of the Mustang, leaving the driver trapped inside. In total, five people were rushed to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.

The investigation into the auto accident is ongoing. The results could determine which party was at fault in the crash, as well as the causal factors that led to the incident. For now, the story serves as a reminder to all drivers of just how quickly conditions can change on Pennsylvania roadways, and the need to remain alert and aware of both weather conditions and the actions of other drivers.
