Another victim of summer motorcycle accidents in Pennsylvania

Every spring most states in the country conduct awareness campaigns to help ensure the safety of all travelers. In spite of these efforts, many are hurt or killed as a result of a seemingly endless series of motorcycle accidents that happen almost daily. Recently, another wreck took the life of a Pennsylvania man.

Police reported to the scene of an accident between a motorcycle and a commercial vehicle hauling cattle. The accident report stated that the driver of the cattle truck was headed east on a local highway when he approached a side road off to the left. As the driver proceeded to turn, he apparently pulled directly into the path of a motorcyclist headed toward the crossroad from the west.

The 20-year-old man operating the motorcycle was killed as his motorcycle struck the right side of the larger vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision by a local coroner. Pennsylvania officials have not announced what, if any, charges the driver of the truck may face as a result of this fatal wreck.

The victim’s family is surely devastated by the loss of their loved one. In spite of the care and diligence that these riders exhibit, there is often nothing they can do to prevent becoming the victims of horrifying motorcycle accidents. In these circumstances, victims (should they survive) or their surviving families are often left with staggering financial losses as well. When these accidents occur as the result of negligence on the part of another party, families may choose to file a wrongful death claim against the party or parties deemed responsible for their financial damages.
