2 women injured, 1 boy dies in car accident

A toddler recently died following a car crash in Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, two other people suffered injuries in the collision. The tragic car accident occurred on a Thursday and involved two automobiles.

According to police, at around 11:20 a.m., a 26-year-old woman was driving her car with her 3-year-old son in the backseat. All of a sudden, her car crashed into a sport utility vehicle that another woman, said to be 56 years old, was operating. Both of the women suffered injuries in the car accident and were transported to a medical center.

Meanwhile, the boy, who was in a car seat at the time of the collision, suffered blunt-force injuries to his head. He was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead a little over an hour after the accident occurred. Authorities said the boy’s mother had been driving at a speed deemed to be unsafe. They continued to investigate the collision.

The woman in the sport utility vehicle who suffered injuries in the car accident may decide to file a personal injury claim against the other driver in a Pennsylvania civil court. Competent proof of negligence — such as driving too fast for traffic or weather conditions — is necessary to establish liability before the civil court hearing the case. A judge will decide claims for financial damages once liability has been established. A successfully fought claim may lead to a monetary award that may help the woman to cover her hospital bills and lost wages, among other financial losses.
