11 hurt, including 8 children, in Pennsylvania auto accident

A serious accident that sent eight children to a local hospital is still under investigation, according to local sources. Pennsylvania authorities are looking into the auto accident that injured an additional three people, including the driver of the bus that was struck. So far, no criminal charges have been officially filed in connection with the case.

According to preliminary police reports, a pickup truck operated by a struck the broad side of a school bus at an intersection in Delaware County around 8:30 a.m. on May 2. It is unknown what caused the crash to take place, but the damage was sufficient enough to injure eight children on board the bus, the bus driver and the driver and passenger in the pickup. All injured individuals were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Medical reports indicate all injuries incurred in the accident appear to be minor, which is doubtless a relief to the parents of the injured children in particular. Police have not speculated whether speed, inattention or intoxication may have played a role in the crash. Currently, the accident is still being investigated by Pennsylvania law enforcement.

Police will likely continue their investigation until they have documented exactly what occurred in this auto accident. If Pennsylvania authorities determine one or both of the drivers can be held even partly responsible for the crash, they may face criminal charges moving forward. The families of the injured minors as well as any other injured parties may also wish to pursue separate civil suits against the parties thought responsible for damages incurred in the crash.
