5 hurt following car accident in Pennsylvania

A two-vehicle collision has resulted in five injuries, including two young children, according to local sources. Pennsylvania authorities responded to the car accident just after 10 a.m. the morning of May 8. As of this report, police have not released the identities of those injured in the crash, and they have yet to file charges against either driver involved.

According to the accident report, the collision occurred on Route 119. A family of four was traveling northbound when their vehicle was struck by a red pickup truck being driven by an unidentified man. The force of the impact sent the smaller vehicle sailing through the air only to land on its roof.

Two children, who were in the rear of the vehicle, were seriously injured. The driver was ejected from the car, and a female passenger was reportedly trapped inside the car. All four were airlifted to a local hospital in critical condition. The truck continued through a parking lot, striking several parked cars. The driver was found unconscious and was also taken to a hospital.

It is unclear at this time whether Pennsylvania police will file charges against the pickup truck driver in this car accident. However, if they do, the man may face serious criminal consequences. In addition, and regardless if criminal charges are filed, the victims of the accident can file personal injury lawsuits against him in a civil court. The children must have suits filed on their behalves by parents or guardians.
