Auto accident claims 1 life, leads to 1 injury

A man’s life has been cut short in a single-car accident in Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, a woman suffered injuries in the collision. The auto accident took place on a recent Saturday morning.

The crash occurred at 4:15 a.m. on a road near a street intersection. According to police, a car was going down a road and suddenly ran off the road. It then struck some trees before turning upside down.

Initial emergency dispatch reports indicated that two individuals were trapped inside their car. The man ended up dying as a result of the collision. The woman riding with him suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital.

A police investigation may yield information about what caused the auto accident. If the man was driving and caused the crash due to negligent behavior, such as driving too quickly for weather conditions, the injured woman may choose to file a personal injury claim against his estate and anyone else who owned the car he was driving at the time of the crash. Meanwhile, if the woman caused the crash due to negligent driving, the deceased man’s family may opt to file a wrongful death claim against her, seeking the reimbursement of financial damages.

A preponderance of the evidence is required to establish liability before the civil court hearing the case. If liability is established, the court will decide claims for damages. A successfully fought case may result in a monetary damage award that may help with covering funeral costs, hospital bills or other losses related to the Pennsylvania auto accident.
