Car accident claims the lives of 2 men
The majority of travelers likely do not contemplate the dangers they may face as they get behind the wheel every day. However, motor vehicles can become a deadly weapon given the wrong circumstances and an inattentive driver. A recent car accident in Pennsylvania claimed the lives of two more victims who likely did not foresee the coming tragedy.
According to police, the accident occurred in the early morning hours after midnight. The two men, one a tow truck driver with a local company, and the other an employee with a printing company, were standing alongside a disabled vehicle. The broken down car was parked on the shoulder of Route 222 in Lancaster County. Presumably the men were preparing the car for towing from the roadway.
A driver approaching from behind somehow left his travel lane and slammed into the victims and the tow truck. Both men suffered massive injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the moving vehicle was not injured in the collision.
Pennsylvania officials have not filed charges yet in connection with this fatal car accident, but the investigation is ongoing and there was no explanation provided as to how the accident occurred. Now two families have lost their beloved fathers, husbands and grandfathers. The surviving family members have not only lost their loved ones, but likely have sustained heavy financial losses as well. If the other driver is deemed to have been at fault, they may consider filing wrongful death lawsuits in an effort to seek recovery of the monetary damages that quickly accumulate in the weeks and months after these types of tragedies.
