1 man dead in fatal accident in Pennsylvania

A man is dead following a collision between a car and a motorcycle, according to local sources. Pennsylvania authorities responded to the fatal accident in Montgomery the night of April 24. As of this report, the accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed.

According to the accident report, around 5:20 p.m., a car driven by a woman from Phoenixville was turning right onto the northbound Route 100 when a motorcycle driven by a 55-year-old man abruptly crashed into the side of her vehicle. There has been no mention in public reports whether the woman sustained injuries in the crash. However, it has been confirmed that the motorcycle operator fared poorly in the accident.

The man was apparently not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was thrown from his vehicle and sustained serious injuries before being rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was later pronounced dead of those injuries. Police are still investigating the specifics of the crash and have not filed charges against the female driver involved.

If it becomes clear to Pennsylvania police that the female driver was negligent or reckless in attempting her turn when she did, she could be held accountable for the fatal accident in a court of law. In addition, the family of the deceased motorcyclist could be in a position to file civil charges against the woman involved. Wrongful death charges would be considered in a Pennsylvania civil court, bolstered by any evidence of criminal misdeeds on the part of the driver.
